Connecting Veterans to Resources, Education, and Each Other.

The Service Connection Project helps veterans and service members understand the resources available to them, connect with veterans who have navigated similar experiences, and pursue educational and professional opportunities after service.

“We learn how to become service members. Nobody really teaches us how to become veterans.”Kyle Paneto, Founder

Why we exist

The information exists. The hard part is knowing where to start.

Military service teaches us our jobs, our responsibilities, and how to complete a mission as a team. Then service ends, and suddenly a veteran is expected to understand an entirely different world: VA benefits, education benefits, VR&E, state programs, college admissions, civilian careers, and more.

The difficult part is often figuring out what applies to you, where to start, and who to ask. Sometimes the most valuable resource is another veteran who has already been through it. We want to make both available: the information, and the connection.

What we're building

Three programs, built carefully.

We're starting with a focused foundation: resources, human connection, and education. Each program is in development. Join our list to be among the first to hear when they open.

Our founder

“What I had been missing was a connection.”

Kyle Paneto served seven years in the Army National Guard, including two nearly year-long humanitarian activations in New York City. Each period of service opened the door to benefits he barely understood, and nobody explained what had changed.

He learned by asking questions, until an older veteran became his mentor and kept pushing him to look deeper. Again and again, the mentor was right. The information had always been out there. What was missing was someone who had been through it.

Veterans helping veterans

Your experience could be exactly what someone else needs.

Have you used the GI Bill, navigated VR&E, applied to college, changed careers, or started a business? We're building a network of veteran volunteers willing to share what they've learned. Organizations and non-veteran volunteers are welcome, too.
